How to Receive WhatsApp Events Using Webhooks
Register your own endpoint to receive real-time, signed events whenever a message is sent, delivered, read, or a campaign finishes.

What You'll Learn
In this tutorial you'll learn:
- Register an outbound webhook and choose events
- Verify the signature on an incoming payload
Prerequisites
Before you start:
- An HTTPS endpoint on your own system able to receive a POST request
Step-by-Step Guide
Add an integration
Enter your HTTPS endpoint URL and a signing secret you'll use to verify incoming payloads.
Choose which events to receive
Available events are: message.sent, message.delivered, message.read, message.failed, message.received, campaign.completed, campaign.failed, contact.opted_out, and form.submitted (a customer completed a WhatsApp Form).
Verify the signature
Every payload includes an X-Vaaniq-Signature header, an HMAC-SHA256 signature built from your signing secret — verify it on your end before trusting the payload.
Test it
Use Send Test Ping to push a one-off test event to your endpoint and confirm it's wired up correctly.
Your endpoint should respond quickly with a 200 status. If it doesn't, Vaaniq retries automatically with increasing delays (30 seconds, 5 minutes, 30 minutes, then 2 hours) up to 4 attempts.
This is also the way to connect Vaaniq's events into a CRM — point the webhook at your CRM's own inbound integration or a tool like Zapier/Make/n8n, since there's no dedicated native CRM connector yet.
