WhatsApp Infrastructure

Connect, configure, and manage your WhatsApp Business infrastructure — from WABA setup to webhooks.

Connect

WABA Accounts — Connection Guide

Connect your WhatsApp Business Account through one of three methods. A WABA is required before you can send or receive any messages.

Key features
  • Embedded Signup — Meta's guided popup flow. Recommended for most users. Completes WABA creation, phone number registration, and webhook setup in one go
  • Connect with Token — Use an access token generated from the Meta Graph Explorer. Best for developers who already have a WABA configured
  • Create New WABA — Create a brand-new WhatsApp Business Account under your existing Meta Business Manager. Useful if you don't have a WABA yet
  • Token Diagnosis tool — Verify that your existing token has the correct permissions for messaging
  • Sync WABA Data — Pull the latest WABA info, phone numbers, and template status from Meta
  • Disconnect — Remove a WABA from Vaaniq (does not delete it from Meta)
How to use
  1. 1Navigate to WABA Accounts from the sidebar
  2. 2Click Connect WhatsApp to see the three connection options
  3. 3Embedded Signup (recommended): Click it, a Meta popup opens — log into Facebook, select or create a Business Manager, grant permissions, and the WABA is connected automatically
  4. 4Connect with Token: Paste your Meta Graph API access token, click Verify, and if valid the WABA and its phone numbers are imported
  5. 5Create New WABA: If you have a Meta Business Manager but no WABA, this creates one for you — name it and select your business category
  6. 6After connecting, phone numbers appear automatically in the Phone Numbers tab
TipEmbedded Signup is the simplest path. It handles all the Meta-side setup — WABA creation, phone number purchase/registration, and webhook subscription — in a single guided flow.

Embedded Signup — Step by Step

A detailed walkthrough of Meta's Embedded Signup flow — the quickest way to connect your WhatsApp Business Account.

Key features
  • Begin from the WABA Accounts page — click Connect WhatsApp and select Embedded Signup
  • A Meta popup window opens — you log into your Facebook account
  • Choose an existing Meta Business Manager or create a new one
  • Select an existing WhatsApp Business Account or create a new one
  • Purchase a new phone number or use an existing verified number
  • Accept Meta's terms and grant the required permissions to Vaaniq
  • Once complete, the popup closes and your WABA appears in Vaaniq with phone numbers and templates synced
How to use
  1. 1Go to WABA Accounts → Connect WhatsApp → Embedded Signup
  2. 2Log into Facebook when the popup appears
  3. 3Select your Business Manager (or create one)
  4. 4Choose your WABA (or create a new WABA)
  5. 5Select or purchase a phone number
  6. 6Review and accept Meta's terms
  7. 7The popup closes automatically — your WABA is now connected
  8. 8Verify your phone number by requesting an SMS/Voice OTP from the Phone Numbers page
TipIf you don't have a Meta Business Manager, the Embedded Signup flow guides you through creating one. No prior Meta setup is needed.

Connect with Token — Step by Step

Connect an existing WABA using a Meta Graph API access token. Intended for developers and users who already manage their WABA manually.

Key features
  • Generate a token from Meta Graph Explorer with the correct permissions
  • Required permissions: whatsapp_business_messaging, whatsapp_business_management
  • Token must have access to the WABA and its associated phone numbers
  • Vaaniq validates the token and imports WABA details
  • If the token is invalid or lacks permissions, the Token Diagnosis tool shows what's missing
How to use
  1. 1Go to the Meta Graph Explorer (developers.facebook.com/tools/explorer)
  2. 2Select your app and request a token with pages_show_list and whatsapp_business_messaging permissions
  3. 3Copy the generated token
  4. 4In Vaaniq, go to WABA Accounts → Connect WhatsApp → Connect with Token
  5. 5Paste the token and click Verify
  6. 6If valid, your WABA and phone numbers are imported
  7. 7You may need to configure the webhook callback URL separately if not set up
TipTokens expire. If your connection stops working, generate a new token and reconnect. For production, use a long-lived token (60-day expiry) or implement token refresh.

Create New WABA — Step by Step

Create a brand-new WhatsApp Business Account under your Meta Business Manager directly from Vaaniq.

Key features
  • Requires an existing Meta Business Manager with admin access
  • Name your new WABA and select your primary business category
  • Vaaniq creates the WABA via the Meta API
  • After creation, you can purchase or register a phone number
  • New WABA starts with default messaging limits
How to use
  1. 1Go to WABA Accounts → Connect WhatsApp → Create New WABA
  2. 2Enter a name for your WABA (e.g., 'Acme Support')
  3. 3Select your business category from the dropdown
  4. 4Click Create — the WABA is provisioned via Meta
  5. 5Once created, go to Phone Numbers to register a new number or connect an existing one

Phone Numbers

Manage the WhatsApp sender numbers connected to your WABAs. Each number needs verification before it can be used for messaging.

Key features
  • View every phone number registered to your connected WABAs
  • Register a new number with the WhatsApp Cloud API
  • Verify via SMS OTP or Voice Call OTP
  • View quality rating for each number (GREEN, YELLOW, RED)
  • View messaging limits per number (TIER_1K, TIER_10K, TIER_100K, TIER_250K, TIER_1M)
  • Each number's current status: ACTIVE, PENDING, UNVERIFIED, or FLAGGED
  • Disconnect numbers from Vaaniq without removing from Meta
How to use
  1. 1Go to Phone Numbers — connected numbers appear automatically after WABA setup
  2. 2If a number shows UNVERIFIED, click Request Code
  3. 3Choose SMS or Voice call for OTP delivery
  4. 4Enter the OTP code you receive
  5. 5The number status changes to ACTIVE once verified
TipPhone number quality is based on user feedback and engagement. A RED-rated number may have sending restrictions. Improve quality by sending relevant messages and monitoring opt-outs.

QR Codes

Generate WhatsApp QR codes linked to your phone numbers with pre-filled messages. Customers scan to start a conversation instantly.

Key features
  • Generate QR codes for any verified phone number on your account
  • Pre-fill the message that appears when someone scans the QR code
  • Download QR codes as PNG images for printing on flyers, menus, or business cards
  • Copy the deep-link URL for digital use (websites, emails, social media)
  • Local fallback generation when Meta QR API is unavailable
How to use
  1. 1Go to Phone Numbers → QR Codes
  2. 2Click Create QR Code
  3. 3Select the phone number from the dropdown
  4. 4Enter the pre-filled message (e.g., 'Hi, I need help with my order')
  5. 5Click Generate — the QR code appears on screen
  6. 6Download the PNG image or copy the wa.me deep link

Webhooks

Subscribe to real-time platform events via outbound webhooks. Push message statuses, campaign completions, and opt-out events to your own systems.

Key features
  • Meta-side webhook: Vaaniq manages the callback URL for WhatsApp Cloud API subscriptions
  • Outbound webhooks: Vaaniq pushes events to your custom endpoints
  • Available event types: message.sent, message.delivered, message.read, message.failed, message.received, campaign.completed, campaign.failed, contact.opted_out
  • HMAC-SHA256 signed payloads for security verification
  • Automatic retry with exponential backoff: 30s → 5min → 30min → 2h → 4 retries total
  • Delivery log viewer: see every webhook attempt, HTTP status code, and response body
  • Manually re-send any webhook payload from the log viewer for testing
How to use
  1. 1Go to Settings → Integrations (Outbound Webhooks)
  2. 2Click Add Integration
  3. 3Enter your endpoint URL (must be HTTPS)
  4. 4Enter a signing secret — used to verify HMAC signatures on your end
  5. 5Select the events you want to subscribe to
  6. 6Toggle the integration ON to activate
  7. 7Click Send Test Ping to verify connectivity — a test event is pushed to your endpoint
TipYour endpoint must respond with a 200 OK status within 5 seconds. Payloads follow a standard JSON format with event_type, event_id, and data fields.
